BUSES 83 and 91 operate services to and from Wellington. It is just a few minutes walk to the Civic Gardens from the bus stop at Westfield Queensgate. Visit www.metlink.org.nz or phone 0800 801 700 for fare and timetable information.

TRAINS run frequently between Waterloo Station and Wellington and the Wairarapa. If you choose to walk rather than bus from Waterloo, allow about 20 minutes. Visit www.metlink.org.nz or phone 0800 801 700 for fare and timetable information.

BY CAR it will take you 15-20 minutes from central Wellington or Upper Hutt via SH2. There is parking directly outside and in nearby streets.

Venue

The Civic Gardens venue for shapeshifter has three display areas. The majority of sculptures are located outdoors, dynamically displayed in carefully chosen locations amid the trees and flowerbeds. Many works have been designed to interact with their setting.

There are also works displayed indoors in the Gibbes Watson Conservatory, and in the gloriously renovated Tutukiwi Gallery. Tutukiwi features the Daily Display: your opportunity to grab an art bargain as the shapeshifter artists offer supplementary works of art for sale. There are changes every day – first in, first served!
