The work of artists from right around New Zealand is represented in Banks Shoes shapeshifter. They have used mediums including ceramic, wood, metal, glass and other mixed mediums, including recycled materials.
shapeshifter is not a competition, but rather an opportunity for carefully selected artists to exhibit and sell work at one of the most acclaimed and best attended arts events in the country.
Well-known New Zealand sculptors at shapeshifter 2012 include Tanya Ashken, John Edgar, David McCracken, Campbell Maud and Greg Bloomfield, the latter whose bright yellow Giraffe sculpture is set to delight visitors of all ages.
This year’s show is more exciting than ever as half of the selected artists are talented newcomers who have never before shown at shapeshifter, offering a unique insight into cutting-edge contemporary sculpture.
